Services Provided
Individual Psychotherapy
Each therapy session lasts 45 minutes and is focused on the client's goals; i.e., what he or she wants to accomplish in therapy. There are no predetermined topics to discuss as each session is guided by the needs of the particular client.
Couples Counseling
Typically, I meet with the couple together for 2-3 sessions, followed by an individual session with each partner. Afterward, the couple resumes coming in together. The individual session is helpful in giving each partner an opportunity to share their personal history. This is often very important to understanding the challenges the couple is experiencing in their relationship.
Mental Health Trainings
I conduct trainings on a variety of mental health topics for professional staff and law-enforcement agencies. Topics include understanding mental illness, mood disorders, and suicidality. These trainings are geared toward mental health practitioners, non-mental health professional staff, and law-enforcement officers.
Community-Based Presentations
These mental health presentations are geared toward lay-people in the community. Topics include mental illness, mood disorders, addiction, and suicidality.
Risk-Assessment Evaluations
I conduct risk-assessment evaluations for law enforcement agencies. The purpose of these evaluations is to determine the level of risk that an individual with a history of criminal offending will commit another offense.
